There is no doubt that this is a good headset made with experienced hands however I would say that the headset needs a driver or either that audio jacks to USB cable. Plugging In the Headset would basically make two Audio inputs in the Realtek Mic device ( Two mics recognized as one) which causes a lot of noise, most probably static and also probably conflict with the software. To make clear, my PC has a built in mic which is the Realtek and I can't just disable the mic via Sounds tab or else I won't be able to use my mic.

However, I can conclude that plugging the audio jacks into the audio ports of my PC will only recognize it as a part of the Realtek mic and speakers instead of recognizing it as a separate device which also might be a cause of the static and the difficulty of the mic not working. CTIA and OMTP use different microphone/ground wiring, and using a CTIA compliant headset (such as ours) connected to OMTP jacks will result in no microphone audio, but the sound will work just fine.I troubleshooted what was going on and concluded that the product "HyperX Cloud Alpha" I have purchased has no defect at all. It could happen that your laptop 3.5mm jack is not CTIA compliant, and is maybe OMTP compliant (quite rare as OMTP is barely used, but let's make sure).

Realtek HD Audio Manager) if everything is configured properly. Update the audio driver using the latest available version from the laptop manufacturer website Make sure your headset microphone is set as the default recording device, and not the laptop webcam or any other device you might have connected. What laptop models do you guys have (full model name, not just the manufacturer name)? Most of the time, when sound works perfectly fine, but the microphone is not being picked up, it comes down to two things - misconfiguration or laptop 3.5mm jack. If your headsets are working fine with the console/PC, but not on the laptop, that really narrows it down.
